Our Story

A true family business rooted in the California River Delta

The Kirchhoff family lives and farms south of Clarksburg, CA, on the Sacramento River Delta. The fertile soils and warm days of the Clarksburg Appellation allow for strong vine growth, with the Delta breeze allowing the vines to cool down and rest at night. The result is nothing short of excellence.

Growing grapes is more than an occupation in our family. It is a passion which drives us day in and day out to produce the highest quality achievable. When it comes to the grape growing process, our approach is “hands on”. Our estate vineyards are hand pruned, picked, and tended. We also utilize dry farming techniques to evoke the truest expression that our land has to offer, and by following organic and sustainable practices we are preserving it for future generations to come.

When it comes to winemaking, our approach is “hands off”, which means we try to do as little as possible to manipulate the wine. There are no added sugars, acids, or tannins to the wine, and using spontaneous fermentation means no yeasts are added either. What we get in the end is a pure, natural product that we are proud to put our name on.

We truly hope you enjoy the wine as much as we love making it. CHEERS!
